Torrent Power, a part of the Torrent Group, has announced a substantial investment of Rs 64,000 crore in green energy projects, with a focus on renewable energy. The company aims to achieve 10 GW of installed renewable energy capacity by 2030, creating job opportunities for approximately 26,000 individuals. At the 4th Edition of RE-Invest in Gandhinagar, Torrent Power reaffirmed its commitment to a sustainable future by submitting two 'Shapath Patras' to the Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. The company plans to develop a 5 GW solar, wind, or solar-wind hybrid project in Dwarka, Gujarat, in collaboration with the state government. Furthermore, Torrent Power is venturing into the production of Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia to support the nation's energy requirements and decarbonization efforts. They also intend to set up a Green Ammonia production facility and invest in Pumped Storage Project (PSP) sites for energy storage solutions. With a robust financial standing and experience in large-scale infrastructure projects, Torrent Power is well-positioned to contribute significantly to India's goal of achieving 500 GW renewable capacity by 2030. The company's Chairman, Samir Mehta, emphasized their dedication to advancing green energy solutions and aligning business operations with national priorities.
