TotalEnergies and Air Products have signed a 15-year agreement for the annual supply in Europe of 70,000 tons of green hydrogen starting in 2030. This partnership aims to decarbonize TotalEnergies' European refineries. Air Products, a key player in the hydrogen industry, will deliver green hydrogen from its global network to TotalEnergies' Northern European refineries, which is expected to prevent approximately 700,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually. The deal is a significant step in TotalEnergies' objective to reduce net greenhouse gas emissions by 40% by 2030 compared to 2015 levels. Air Products, known for its commitment to energy transition projects, is investing heavily in low carbon hydrogen initiatives globally. The agreement also includes TotalEnergies supplying green power to Air Products and a plan to explore further Power Purchase Agreement opportunities in different countries. The goal is to fully decarbonize hydrogen usage in TotalEnergies' European refineries, with the potential to decrease CO2 emissions by five million tons annually by 2030.
