VINSSEN Co., Ltd, a South Korean maritime decarbonization technology specialist, has received project-based approval from Bureau Veritas (BV) for its hydrogen fuel cell system. The company successfully demonstrated the feasibility of hydrogen fuel cell systems onboard commercial vessels by passing BV's rigorous performance tests. VINSSEN delivered a 60kW PEM Fuel Cell System with key components like a Fuel Cell Module, an integrated converter module, a battery system, and a transformer, all designed for easy control by vessel operators. Seok-Hee LEE, VINSSEN's Project Manager, highlighted the challenges faced during the project but praised the teamwork and cooperation that led to success. This achievement builds upon VINSSEN's previous Approval in Principle (AIP) Certification for Maritime Fuel Cell Power Packs and Type Approval for a Lithium-Ion Battery System. The recent 15 billion KRW Series C investment round will fuel VINSSEN's growth in product development and market expansion. The establishment of a US branch office in Seattle aims to enter the North American market, following their presence in Singapore since 2022. The trial project conducted in collaboration with Shell Singapore Pte. Ltd., Seatrium Limited, Penguin International Limited, and Air Liquide Singapore Pte. Ltd. further solidifies VINSSEN's position in advancing hydrogen solutions globally.
