Ceres Power Holdings has been awarded a contract to design a 10 MW pressurized solid oxide electrolyser (SOEC) module for use in large-scale industrial applications like synthetic fuels, ammonia, and green steel. This contract is part of the collaboration with Shell, which began in 2022 and aims to develop sustainable fuel production systems. The European Commission has introduced a pilot mechanism to gather and share data on the renewable hydrogen market to accelerate investments and promote clearer market insights for both suppliers and off-takers. In another development, Germany, Austria, and Italy have agreed to jointly establish the SoutH2 Corridor to transport green hydrogen from North Africa to demand centers in the three countries. Companies like Wärtsilä, RINA, and John Cockerill are also making significant investments in green energy technologies, including ammonia-fueled bunkering vessels and expanding electrolyzer production hubs globally. John Cockerill, for example, is set to raise €230 million to support their hydrogen strategy and global expansion plans.
