ENERTRAG, a company focusing on renewable energy and green hydrogen production, has launched a public auction for 500 tons of green hydrogen at the E-World 2025 trade fair in Essen, Germany. This initiative aims to boost the hydrogen economy in Europe. A 10 MW electrolyzer in Osterweddingen near Magdeburg, scheduled to be operational by the end of 2025, will produce 900 tons of green hydrogen annually using onshore wind energy from ENERTRAG's wind farms. The hydrogen auction will offer early access to industrial players and help meet market demand, with potential uses including green steel production, fuel for hydrogen vehicles, and green methanol production. Furthermore, ENERTRAG is expanding its hydrogen infrastructure by constructing two new plants in Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, with a combined electrolysis capacity of 185 MW. These facilities are projected to produce up to 17,000 tons of hydrogen per year by 2028, contributing to the supply of sustainable energy for the industrial sector.
