De Nora, an Italian multinational specializing in electrochemistry and green hydrogen, is collaborating with Maffei Sarda Silicati to establish a green hydrogen production facility in Ossi, Sardinia. Financed through PNRR funds, the project aims to enhance sustainability in the area. The plant, featuring a 1 MW Dragonfly electrolyzer from De Nora, will produce 50 tons of hydrogen annually to power Maffei Sarda Silicati's operations, reducing their reliance on fossil fuels. With an accompanying 1.5 MW photovoltaic plant, the initiative ensures a fully sustainable industrial process. The involvement of the municipal administration, particularly the Mayor of Ossi, Pasquale Libinu, underscores the local support for the project. Beyond meeting the company's energy requirements, the green hydrogen generated can be utilized in various sectors, contributing to Sardinia's decarbonization efforts. The CEOs of De Nora and Maffei Sarda Silicati expressed pride in the partnership and emphasized the significance of the project in advancing green technologies.
