Hydrogen Optimized, a green hydrogen system developer based in Owen Sound, is making waves in the industry as it aims to become a global success story. The company, led by President and CEO Denis Krude, hosted the 'Hydrogen in Action' event at its facility, bringing together key players in the Canadian hydrogen industry to discuss the role of green hydrogen in reducing emissions and fostering economic growth. With over 100 employees working at facilities in Owen Sound and Collingwood, Hydrogen Optimized plans to scale up its manufacturing capacity to 500 megabytes by 2025, with the potential to expand further. Krude highlighted the importance of their technology in decarbonizing industries globally and praised the local workforce and educational institutions for their support. Founded in 2017, Hydrogen Optimized specializes in the RuggedCell high-power water electrolyzer, powered by renewable sources, to produce hydrogen for various industries aiming to transition to cleaner operations. Despite receiving funding from various programs, Krude emphasized the need for additional capital and support to commercialize their systems effectively in the clean tech space.
