Hystar AS has been awarded a significant €26 million grant from the EU Innovation Fund, marking a pivotal moment in the company's journey towards expanding its green hydrogen production capacity. The grant will fuel the establishment of an automated Gigawatt production line for PEM electrolyser stacks at Hystar's site in Høvik, Norway. This innovative technology promises notable cost reductions, enhanced performance, and increased safety in green hydrogen plant operations. Hystar's existing production line in Høvik, with a current annual capacity of 100 MW, is already engaged in commercial projects. With the aid of the EU Innovation Fund grant, Hystar plans to elevate its production capabilities by implementing the automated GW factory. This new facility is anticipated to have an initial capacity of 1.5 GW upon its launch in 2027, with aspirations to scale up to 4.5 GW annually by 2031. CEO Fredrik Mowill expressed enthusiasm about the forthcoming developments, highlighting the company's dedication to meeting global demand for its technology while driving efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
