Metacon AB has been awarded an add-on contract for the supply of a 20 MW pressurised alkaline electrolysis plant to Motor Oil (Hellas) Corinth Refineries S.A. in Greece. This contract, with a total value of EUR 10.6 million, will expand the hydrogen production plant in Corinth to 50 MW, making it one of the largest electrolysis-based hydrogen production plants in Europe. The assembly of the plant is taking place in Metacon's factory in Patras, Greece, demonstrating the company's commitment to becoming a leading supplier in the industrial clean hydrogen sector. Metacon's CEO highlighted the significance of this contract with Motor Oil, emphasizing the company's contribution to transforming the clean hydrogen market landscape in Europe. The partnership with Motor Oil and the strategic collaboration with PERIC, Metacon's Chinese manufacturing partner, aim to offer cost-effective hydrogen production solutions for the industrial segment.
