Ohmium International, a specialist in green hydrogen technology, has been recognized by India's Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) under the SIGHT incentive program for its exceptional proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzers. The company, awarded up to 137 MW capacity in Tranche II of the program, stands out as the sole PEM electrolyzer manufacturer to receive this accolade. Arne Ballantine, the CEO of Ohmium, expressed pride in the team's dedication to excellence and commitment to driving decarbonization efforts in India and globally. This achievement follows their success in Tranche I of the program, aligning with India's sustainability goals to develop 1.5 GW of domestic electrolyzer manufacturing capacity. Ohmium plans to utilize the awarded funds to expand its Gigafactory in Bangalore and establish local manufacturing facilities, supporting India's position as a key player in the global energy landscape. With a focus on modular design and outdoor installation, Ohmium's PEM electrolyzers offer a cost-effective and space-efficient solution for industries like refineries and ammonia plants seeking decarbonization options. Collaborating with industry giants like NTPC and Tata Projects, Ohmium has a substantial green hydrogen project pipeline spanning across multiple continents, serving diverse sectors such as energy, transportation, steel production, and heavy industry.
