Carburos Metálicos, a prominent industrial and medical gases company in Spain, has renewed its partnership with the Cambra de Tarragona for the third consecutive year, focusing on sustainable growth in the region. The partnership aims to foster collaboration with major companies in Tarragona, contributing to regional development. Director of Supply Chain at Carburos Metálicos, Ignacio Torres, expressed the company's dedication to Tarragona's advancement and highlighted their participation in events emphasizing the role of CO2 capture in climate change mitigation. Carburos Metálicos remains actively engaged in regional organizations such as the Tarragona Chemical Business Association and the Hydrogen Valley of Catalonia, underlining its commitment to the local community. The company operates five plants in Tarragona, producing essential gases like medical oxygen, hydrogen, and CO2 for various industries. In a significant move, Carburos Metálicos established a pioneering 'H2 fuel cell' laboratory at its Pobla de Mafumet plant, ensuring compliance with stringent hydrogen quality standards. Moreover, the company has initiated the 'Movem Tarragona' campaign to stimulate the region's industrial sector and wider community. A key component of this campaign is the construction of Tarragona's first public hydrogen station, which will facilitate the deployment of hydrogen for heavy-duty transport. This station is part of Air Products' European network of refuelling stations, supported by EU funding, with additional stations planned in various European cities like Rotterdam, Ghent, and Meckenheim.
