PowerCell Group is taking a significant step towards sustainability by participating in the H2MAC project, an EU-funded initiative focusing on advancing hydrogen fuel cell solutions for heavy machinery in challenging environments like construction and mining. The project, starting in 2024, aims to develop durable fuel cells capable of withstanding dust, vibrations, and other demanding conditions typically found in the industry. With a total project funding of €793,000, PowerCell will contribute its expertise in systems and application integration to create a scalable hydrogen-powered fuel cell powertrain for Non-Road Mobile Machinery. The project milestones include system delivery in late 2025 to early 2026, with operational tests slated for Autumn 2026. PowerCell's involvement underscores their dedication to pioneering hydrogen-electric solutions for industries with high environmental impact, such as construction and mining. The CEO highlights the potential of these fuel cells to reduce local air pollution and decarbonize hard-to-abate sectors.
