HDF Energy has recently established a new center of industrial excellence in Bordeaux, France, aimed at developing high-power fuel cells for various applications. The facility, which was completed in January 2025, focuses on fuel cell design and industrialization for heavy maritime and rail mobility, as well as electricity production. This center, supported by the French IPCEI program, emphasizes replicating real-world fuel cell operating conditions to ensure performance and robustness, intended to serve as a training ground for potential clients. HDF Energy's collaborative efforts with multiple French partners showcase an innovative and pioneering approach in the field. The facility boasts features such as solar-powered hydrogen production, storage capacity for up to 500 kg of hydrogen, and the capability to supply electricity to the grid. Additionally, it houses a versatile test bench designed to enhance propulsion systems for maritime and rail applications.
