Hopium, a cleantech company based in Paris, has successfully completed road tests for its 100 kW hydrogen fuel cell system. The tests, carried out on the UTAC circuit, validated the robustness and reliability of the fuel cell technology, marking a crucial milestone towards commercialization. Stéphane Rabatel, CEO of Hopium, expressed delight at reaching this achievement, acknowledging the dedication of the team and emphasizing the company's commitment to decarbonized mobility. The company aims to offer a competitive alternative to diesel for heavy-duty transport by 2028-2030. Following discussions at the Hydrogen Business for Climate Forum, Hopium confirmed its development strategy, focusing on niche markets initially to finance industrialization. Hopium plans to intensify discussions for acquiring a stake from a major industrial player to support future developments, including the installation of an automated assembly line and the finalization of a 200 kW system for heavy-duty transport. With its advanced fuel cell system, Hopium aims to provide a low-carbon solution without compromising on performance and autonomy, aligning with industry expectations and sustainability goals.
