Abu Dhabi is making strides in sustainable public transport with the introduction of green buses powered by hydrogen and electricity. The fleet's expansion to 19 vehicles is expected to significantly reduce annual carbon dioxide emissions by over 100,000 tonnes. These green buses are currently operational on specific routes in Abu Dhabi, marking a positive shift towards a more environmentally friendly public transport system. The Green Buses initiative, launched by the ITC, aligns with Abu Dhabi's goal of transforming the city into a green public transport zone by 2030. By reducing greenhouse gas emissions from its public transport fleet, Abu Dhabi demonstrates its commitment to the Paris Agreement and aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
