Hyundai Motor announced the appointment of President Jang Jae-hoon as the new co-chairman of the Hydrogen Council, a global CEO consultative body focused on accelerating the transition to a hydrogen society. President Jang, along with the existing CEO Sanjeev Lambar Linde, will lead discussions on global hydrogen demand and work with stakeholders to drive innovation in the hydrogen field. Hyundai Motor has a long-standing commitment to hydrogen-related research and development, having achieved milestones such as the mass production of hydrogen electric vehicles and trucks. The company recently expanded its hydrogen value chain business brand, HTWO, and showcased its vision to become a leading provider of hydrogen solutions. Through various domestic and international projects, Hyundai Motor has demonstrated the reliability and potential of hydrogen fuel cell technology. President Jang expressed enthusiasm about the appointment, emphasizing the importance of the Hydrogen Council in the global energy transition. The Hydrogen Council, founded in 2017, aims to promote clean energy by uniting companies with a shared vision for hydrogen. With a growing membership of 140 companies from more than 20 countries, the council plays a vital role in driving innovation and sustainability in the energy sector.
