The India Hydrogen Alliance (IH2A) has expanded its membership by welcoming six new members, namely Sumitomo Corporation India, Worley Ltd., Jindal Renewable Power, HPCL-Mittal Energy Ltd. (HMEL), Trilegal, and Cochin Shipyard Ltd. IH2A, comprising 26 members including industry players and partner organizations, is focused on developing the hydrogen economy in India. The coalition has submitted reports totaling USD 55 billion to the Indian government to support the National Green Hydrogen Hub and hydrogen equipment development. The new members bring diverse expertise - Cochin Shipyard developing India's first indigenous hydrogen fuel cell catamaran ferry vessel, and Sumitomo, HPCL-Mittal Energy, and Jindal Renewable Power contributing to shaping the hydrogen ecosystem. IH2A aims to work closely with state governments to establish large green hydrogen projects, with a specific focus on decarbonizing marine transport. The alliance, facilitated by the IH2A Steering Group and supported by FTI Consulting, aims to progress projects towards the Final Investment Decision stage by leveraging the technical and contracting capabilities of its new members.
