Sweden-based PowerCell Group has secured a major order for marine fuel cell systems from an Italian marine OEM manufacturer. The order, valued at approximately SEK 165 million (US$16.3 million), is one of the largest in the world for marine fuel cell systems. The deliveries are scheduled to commence in mid-2025 and conclude by the end of the same year. The order consists of 56 units of the Marine System 225, with a significant portion designated for installation on commercial cruise ships to power internal electricity systems, offering a combined power output of over 6.3 MW. Additionally, a 3.2 MW marine power solution is in development for internal testing, along with another 3.2 MW solution for installation on a different vessel.
