Prestone Products, a US-based supplier of coolants and corrosion protection fluids, has unveiled three advanced thermal management fluids specifically developed for electric vehicles (EVs) and fuel cells. The new products include a silicate organic inhibitor technology EV thermal management fluid, a low-conductivity phosphate organic acid technology EV thermal management fluid, and an ultra-low conductivity fuel cell coolant. These fluids are engineered to meet industry specifications like the EV coolant-specific GB29743.2 standard, focusing on safety and extended lifespan of EVs. The GB29743.2 standard, mandated for compliance by vehicle OEMs operating in China by mid-2026 and likely to influence the global industry, requires a significant reduction in the electrical conductivity of coolants to enhance battery safety.
