Rehlko, in collaboration with partner Toyota Motor North America, has developed a new power generation system based on a hydrogen fuel cell. The initiative has led to the installation of a 100 kW solid polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell at Klickitat Valley Health in Washington state. This fuel cell will serve multiple purposes such as emergency backup, peak shaving, and demand response, contributing to the hospital's sustainability strategy. Rehlko provided the complete fuel cell solution, including system integration and manufacturing, to reduce the environmental impact of power generation. Ben Rapp, Business Development Manager at Rehlko, highlighted the fuel cell's ability to offer zero-emissions power, interoperability, and low-maintenance operation. The system is ideal for powering critical infrastructure like hospitals and data centers through microgrids and can even support electric vehicle charging.
