VINSSEN Co., Ltd, a South Korea-based maritime decarbonization technology specialist, has achieved project-based approval from Bureau Veritas for its hydrogen fuel cell system. The successful completion of BV's performance tests for the 60kW PEM Fuel Cell System is a crucial milestone in demonstrating the feasibility of utilizing hydrogen technology onboard commercial vessels. The system includes key components such as a Fuel Cell Module, an integrated converter module, a battery system, and a transformer, designed with a user-friendly interface for vessel operators. Seok-Hee LEE, VINSSEN's Project Manager, emphasized the collaborative effort that overcame challenges, underscoring the significance of the achievement in promoting carbon neutrality in the maritime industry. Building on previous certifications, including Approval in Principle from Korean Register for larger Maritime Fuel Cell Power Packs and Type Approval for a Lithium-Ion Battery System, VINSSEN continues to lead in sustainable maritime solutions. The company's recent Series C investment round of 15 billion KRW will support further product development, market expansion, and talent acquisition. Additionally, VINSSEN's strategic move to establish a US branch office in Seattle and its existing presence in Singapore demonstrate a commitment to international growth.
