Hazer Group Ltd, an Australian technology company, has entered into a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with POSCO Steel, a global steel producer based in South Korea. The collaboration aims to integrate Hazer's hydrogen and graphite production technology into POSCO’s steel manufacturing process to support the decarbonisation of steel production. POSCO, aiming for carbon neutrality by 2050, views Hazer's technology as essential for achieving their sustainability goals. The MOU will focus on developing plans to incorporate Hazer's technology into POSCO’s low-carbon steel production, with a particular emphasis on utilizing Hazer's hydrogen production technology and low emissions graphite product. Dr. Seong-yeon Kim from POSCO emphasized the importance of reducing emissions in steel production and highlighted the potential of Hazer's technology to help achieve their Net Zero vision.
