Hygreen Energy has successfully delivered a 25MW alkaline electrolyser system to Huadian Weifang Power Generation in Weifang, China. This system will enable the production of up to 3.6 tonnes of hydrogen daily and will be used for an onsite refuelling station and blending with natural gas through pipelines. The project is a significant development under China’s 'Hydrogen Into Ten Thousand Homes' initiative. Installation and commissioning of the electrolysers began in November 2024 and are expected to be completed in Q1 2025. Benny Wang, the CEO of Hygreen Energy, emphasized the importance of this project in the renewable energy transition of the Shandong region. Additionally, Hygreen Energy is planning to build a 5GW alkaline electrolyser factory in Spain as part of its €2 billion European expansion plan, aiming to meet European compliance standards. The company, formerly known as Beijing SinoHy Energy Co., is rebranding itself as Hygreen and positioning itself as a leading international electrolyser equipment manufacturer focusing on green hydrogen. This move indicates a shift towards larger scale hydrogen projects and international market presence for Hygreen Energy.
