French hydrogen fuel pioneer Lhyfe is rapidly progressing towards establishing a 20MW green hydrogen production plant in Wallsend, North Tyneside, UK, at the site of the former Neptune Bank Power Station. The company's ambitious plans have been well-received, with the project being earmarked in the UK Government’s Second Hydrogen Allocation Round, reflecting a positive stance towards hydrogen within the country's decarbonisation strategy. Lhyfe's head of UK business development, Boris Davis, expressed confidence in the project's scale and its alignment with the demand for hydrogen in the region.
