Surrey County Council is taking a significant step towards sustainable public transportation by introducing 34 new hydrogen buses to operate in various locations across the region. The 23 single-decker and 11 double-decker buses have an impressive range of 600 miles and produce no harmful emissions, aligning with efforts to reduce carbon footprints. These buses will serve routes covering key areas like Salfords, Horley, Gatwick Airport, Crawley, Merstham, Redhill, Reigate, Woodhatch, and East Surrey Hospital. The investment of £16m by Surrey County Council in partnership with Metrobus underscores a commitment to environmentally friendly transportation solutions. This initiative aims to make zero emissions a sustainable reality for the communities being served.
