Asahi Kasei, a Japanese technology firm, and De Nora, an Italian sustainable technology company, have entered into a partnership to develop small-scale pressurized alkaline water electrolyzers. This collaboration, formalized through a memorandum of understanding (MOU), aims to address the increasing demand for green hydrogen as a cleaner alternative to fossil fuels. The Hydrogen Council predicts a substantial growth in water electrolyzer capacity by 2030, prompting companies to invest in compact systems. Asahi Kasei and De Nora's joint efforts focus on creating containerized electrolyzers ranging from 1 to 7.5 MW, catering to diverse market needs. The partnership capitalizes on De Nora's expertise in electrode catalysts and Asahi Kasei's experience in chlor-alkali electrolysis to develop efficient and cost-effective electrolyzer solutions.
