Hyundai Motor Company, together with autonomous driving software leader Plus, has introduced the first Level 4 autonomous hydrogen fuel cell electric truck in the U.S. at the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo. This partnership showcases the XCIENT Fuel Cell truck, which features Plus's SuperDrive Level 4 autonomous driving technology. The truck is set to undergo self-driving tests on a Class 8 fuel cell electric truck in the U.S., with the goal of demonstrating enhanced safety, efficiency, and sustainability in trucking operations. The XCIENT Fuel Cell truck, initially launched in 2020 and operating across eight countries, is highlighted for its real-world reliability and technological excellence. With a strong track record, the truck has a commercialized version capable of over 450 miles per charge with a full load. Plus's SuperDrive technology, utilized globally, incorporates advanced sensors like LiDAR, radar, and cameras to provide comprehensive perception, planning, prediction, and autonomous driving capabilities.
