Hyundai Motor Company and Plus unveiled a shared vision at the ACT Expo 2025 in Anaheim, California, detailing their collaboration on autonomous hydrogen-powered fuel cell trucks to accelerate the development of a hydrogen-powered freight network in the United States. The concept combines Hyundai's XCIENT Fuel Cell truck with Plus's AI-based autonomous driving software, SuperDrive™, to provide a scalable and cost-effective solution for long-haul freight, aiming to reduce the carbon footprint of commercial transportation. The video presentation outlined a practical framework for deploying autonomous hydrogen fuel cell trucks along high-utilization hub-to-hub routes, emphasizing zero-tailpipe emissions, fast refueling, long driving range, quieter operation, and reduced maintenance. Hyundai Motor has already achieved milestones in the U.S., operating 30 XCIENT Fuel Cell trucks at major ports and logistic sites, with plans to scale the ecosystem globally and expand its HTWO hydrogen brand into an open collaboration platform.
