Work has begun on the construction of a new hydrogen refuelling station at Teesside International Airport in the United Kingdom. Element 2, a leading hydrogen refuelling business in the UK, is managing the project with funding from the UK Government. The station, featuring 700 and 350 bar refuelling capabilities, will cater to hydrogen road vehicles, airport vehicles, and commercial fleets. This initiative is part of the Tees Valley Hydrogen Transport hub, which aims to establish public hydrogen refuelling stations in the region. Element 2's CEO, James Harris, highlighted the vital role of the project in providing the necessary infrastructure for widespread hydrogen usage in transportation. The airport's Managing Director, Phil Forster, expressed excitement about pioneering clean energy fuels and enhancing the airport's sustainability efforts. Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen emphasized the region's commitment to cleaner industries and job creation through investments in hydrogen technology.
