The company unveiled its plans to enter the North American commercial vehicle market with a portfolio of zero-emission trucks, including both battery-electric and hydrogen fuel cell models. ZM Trucks, based in Torrance, Calif., aims to start selling its innovative vehicles by the end of the year. The CEO, Joost de Vries, emphasized the company's commitment to offering sustainable solutions while also ensuring competitiveness in terms of total cost of ownership compared to traditional diesel trucks. ZM Trucks showcased various models at the expo, including the ZM8 and ZM22 battery-electric cabover trucks, with impressive ranges and payload capacities suitable for urban applications. Additionally, the company will offer hydrogen fuel cell electric versions of these models, providing even greater range and payload capacity while significantly reducing refueling time. ZM Trucks plans to kick off the production of these models in California and Toronto, with distribution partnerships in place to cater to the Canadian market.
