The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has launched a Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Clearing House to facilitate the approval process for new SAF producers and promote the development of environmentally friendly aviation fuels. This initiative aims to assist fuel producers in complying with the ASTM D4054 standard evaluation and obtaining approvals for their SAF pathways, in line with the requirements of the ReFuelEU Aviation Regulation. Supported by funding from the EU, the Clearing House will offer various services, including pre-screening, report writing support, and partial funding for testing. The Clearing House will operate across a network of European and international testing facilities, with partners such as Trinity College Dublin, Intertek, and others contributing to evaluating environmental impacts and ensuring the safety and viability of new SAF products. This collaborative effort by EASA is part of the industry's response to the increasing demand for SAF to reduce aviation emissions and achieve sustainability goals. The establishment of the Clearing House reflects a broader trend of collaboration within the aviation industry regarding SAF.
