In a significant move towards sustainable aviation, Joby Aviation and Mukamalah, a subsidiary of Saudi Aramco and the operator of the world's largest fleet of corporate aircraft, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to introduce Joby's electric air taxis to Saudi Arabia. This partnership includes the direct sale of Joby's aircraft to Mukamalah, with the aim of integrating emissions-free aircraft into Saudi Arabia's aviation landscape in alignment with the country's sustainability goals, notably Vision 2030 and the target of achieving net-zero emissions by 2060. The agreement also involves collaborating with key aviation stakeholders, such as The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), to accelerate Joby's market entry in Saudi Arabia. Joby's eVTOL aircraft, designed to carry passengers at high speeds with minimal noise and zero operating emissions, represents a step forward in green aviation technology.
