NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd, a subsidiary of NTPC Ltd, has initiated the process of inviting bids to establish a hydrogen refueling station for its green hydrogen mobility project in Kandla, Gujarat. The successful bidder will be responsible for the comprehensive setup of the station, including design, engineering, supply, construction, testing, commissioning, and operation and maintenance for a period of 20 years on a turnkey basis. The project entails the integration of various components such as an electrolyser system with a capacity of 18 kg/hour, a hydrogen compression system capable of compressing hydrogen to 500 bar at a rate of 20 kg/hour, and a hydrogen storage facility for storing 420 kg at 500 bar in H2 cylinders cascades. Additionally, the scope includes a hydrogen dispenser system for refueling FCEVs at 350 bar, an 80 kW/600 kWh battery energy storage system for supporting electrolyser coolers and other critical equipment, a 25 kW hydrogen fuel cell for emergency power provision, and a 40 kW solar rooftop and 20 kW vertical wind turbine installation on the building and sheds.
