In Bavaria, Germany, a significant step towards expanding the hydrogen infrastructure has been taken with the approval of funding for a new hydrogen refuelling station on the A6 motorway. The State Secretary for Economic Affairs and Energy, Tobias Gotthardt, handed over a 2 million euro funding certificate to H2 MOBILITY for this project. The station, set to be constructed at the A6 motorway exit Amberg-Ost, will offer refuelling facilities for various types of vehicles, including buses, trucks, light commercial vehicles, waste collectors, and cars, aiming to support the decarbonisation of transport in the region. The strategic location of the station on the Rhine-Danube transport corridor towards the Czech Republic positions it as a crucial hub for supplying commercial vehicles with green hydrogen. The involvement of local project partner Widmann car dealership group further reinforces the commitment to promoting hydrogen usage in the commercial vehicle segment. The project not only contributes to reducing carbon emissions from transport but also creates synergies with other hydrogen initiatives in the Nuremberg metropolitan region.
