The Canadian government has allocated a total of C$346.9 million in funding to Ottawa, Mississauga, and Canmore for transit-related projects. In Ottawa, more than C$222 million will be invested over the next decade to modernize public transit infrastructure and contribute to complete, transit-oriented communities. In Mississauga, C$123 million will be used to upgrade public transit infrastructure and acquire 10 hydrogen fuel cell buses, showcasing Ontario's commitment to reducing carbon emissions. Canmore will receive over C$5.9 million to upgrade local transit and active transportation infrastructure, promoting safer and more sustainable transportation options. Mayor Sean Krausert highlighted the town's vision for a safe, accessible transportation system. The projects aim to increase transit ridership and promote the use of sustainable transportation methods by 2030.
