Indian Oil, a public sector oil giant, has taken a significant step towards promoting sustainable and eco-friendly transportation by handing over a green hydrogen fuel cell bus to the Indian Army in New Delhi. This move comes as part of Indian Oil's objective to advance hydrogen fuel cell technology for heavy-duty e-mobility. The collaboration includes the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Indian Oil and the Indian Army at the National War Memorial at India Gate. General Manoj Pande, Chief of Army Staff, emphasized the army's commitment to adopting innovative technologies for operational enhancements while focusing on environmental sustainability. Indian Oil Chairman, S M Vaidya, highlighted the partnership as a crucial milestone towards a greener future. Indian Oil is already operating 15 fuel cell buses in the Delhi-NCR region, showcasing the potential of hydrogen technology. The Indian Army's involvement in testing one of these buses further solidifies their role as pioneers in evaluating hydrogen and fuel cell technology for heavy-duty e-mobility.
