Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases Group and SunLine Transit Agency have recently unveiled a state-of-the-art liquid-hydrogen fuelling station in Thousand Palms, California. The station marks a significant advancement in California's hydrogen infrastructure, catering to SunLine Transit's existing fleet of 32 hydrogen fuel cell buses with plans for further expansion to achieve zero emissions. Nikkiso's President, Adrian Ridge, highlighted the station's role in propelling the hydrogen economy, while SunLine Transit's CEO/General Manager, Mona Babauta, emphasized the station's importance in transitioning their entire fleet to hydrogen fuel cell buses. The station boasts market-leading features, including unlimited back-to-back fuelling capabilities and dual-hose dispensers that adhere to industry fuelling protocols, ensuring efficient refuelling in under 10 minutes. SunLine Transit intends to introduce a public dual-hose dispensing unit in the near future, making clean hydrogen fuel more accessible to a wider range of vehicles in the region. Moreover, the station's strategic location facilitates long-distance travel, encouraging the use of hydrogen fuel for cars, long-haul trucks, and buses passing through the Coachella Valley region.
