NTPC REL, a subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) in Gandhidham, Gujarat, focusing on promoting green energy technologies at Kandla Port, India. The MoU exchange took place in the presence of Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, and other dignitaries. NGEL's initiative includes setting up a green hydrogen fueling station and introducing 11 hydrogen-powered buses at Kandla Port to enhance sustainability and contribute to decarbonization efforts. This project follows NTPC's successful green hydrogen blending project in Surat and similar initiatives in other regions. NTPC also aims to establish a green hydrogen hub in Visakhapatnam and achieve a significant renewable energy capacity by 2032. The collaboration represents a positive step towards fostering clean and sustainable transportation solutions, aligning with India's renewable energy goals and environmental commitments.
