NTPC Limited, a prominent state-owned power company in India, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GRIDCO and CRUT to advance green hydrogen infrastructure in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The agreement involves establishing a green hydrogen fuelling station in Bhubaneswar and deploying hydrogen-powered buses for short- and long-distance routes. This initiative is part of NTPC's efforts to promote clean energy adoption, reduce dependence on fossil fuels, and contribute to decarbonisation and energy sustainability in the state. The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy is supporting the Bhubaneswar project, which is in line with NTPC's broader green energy objectives, including previous initiatives like a green hydrogen blending project in Surat and similar projects in Leh, Greater Noida, and Kandla. NTPC also has plans to develop a green hydrogen hub in Visakhapatnam. With a target of achieving 60 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2032, NTPC is showcasing a strong commitment to clean energy and sustainability.
