In Leh, India, the Union Minister of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs flagged off NTPC's fleet of green hydrogen buses, marking a significant step towards energy security and decarbonisation. The project includes a 1.7 MW solar plant, an 80 kg/day capacity green hydrogen filling station, and 5 hydrogen intra-city buses. Notably, these buses can cover 300 km per single hydrogen filling and operate at the world's highest altitude of 3650m MSL. The station is expected to mitigate 350 MT/year of carbon emissions and contribute 230 MT/year of pure oxygen to the atmosphere.
