Translink, the transportation company in Northern Ireland, has introduced three new single-deck Electroliners to its fleet, ensuring that all services on a specific route are now fully electric. The CEO, Chris Conway, highlighted that these new eco buses not only have a refreshed external look but also offer enhanced features including contactless payment facilities, WiFi, USB charging points, and designated space for luggage, wheelchairs, and prams. The introduction of these electric buses aligns with the latest standards in comfort, safety, and accessibility for passengers. Earlier in the year, Translink received the first batch of a total order of 100 electric buses from Wrightbus, a prominent bus manufacturer in Northern Ireland. Wrightbus is known for producing a variety of electric buses, including fully battery electric models and hydrogen fuel cell electric buses. This move towards electrification in public transportation demonstrates a positive step towards reducing emissions and promoting sustainable travel options in the region.
