In a significant move towards environmental sustainability and modernization, Indian Railways has announced its plan to launch its first hydrogen train this year. Mr. Anil Kumar Khandelwal, a key official from the Railway Board, emphasized the ministry's focus on eco-friendly practices during his speech at the FICCI’s Future Rail India 2024 event. He revealed that the ministry aims to introduce about 50 hydrogen trains by 2047.
