These trains will be crafted at Stadler's Bussnang plant and are designated for service on the Cosenza – Catanzaro route starting in 2027. Stadler's successful track record in Italy includes the sale of more than 100 tailor-made trains, among which are nine hydrogen-powered trainsets ordered by FdC. The projects undertaken by Stadler cater to operators' diverse needs, incorporating technologies like diesel-electric, battery, and hydrogen power, as well as features like light axleloads, small profiles to fit tunnels, and rack and pinion drives.
