The European Union recently announced a significant financial commitment of R628 million to support the development of green hydrogen value chains in South Africa. The EU Energy Commissioner, Kadri Simson, held discussions with South African Minister for Energy and Electricity, Kgosientsho Ramogkopa, and Minister for Trade, Industry and Competition, Parks Tau, emphasizing collaboration for a just energy transition and sustainable value chain development. The financial support, amounting to €32 million, is tailored to align with South Africa's objectives of enhancing the domestic economy and promoting green industrialization.
