The WASCAL Masters Scholarships, in collaboration with the German Government and the West African Science Service Centre on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL), are now open for applications until April 30, 2025. This fully funded opportunity is designed for African students from 15 ECOWAS countries to pursue a master's degree in Energy and Green Hydrogen at selected universities in West Africa, with research and academic exchange opportunities in Germany. The program aims to equip the next generation of experts in renewable energy and green hydrogen technology to address energy challenges and climate adaptation in the region. Fields of study include Economics, Policies, Infrastructures, Bioenergy, Biofuels, Photovoltaic, System Analysis, and Natural Resources. Eligible candidates must hold a BSc degree, have proficiency in English, and demonstrate a strong interest in renewable energy. Selected scholars will receive a monthly stipend, accommodation support, tuition fee coverage, research budget, and travel tickets for language courses and specialization countries. The program will last 28 months, including language proficiency training and master's degree coursework and research. Applicants must submit various documents, including academic transcripts, a CV, recommendation letters, and a motivation letter. The selection process considers academic qualifications, motivation, recommendations, and interest in renewable energy technologies. The program will host master's programs in partner universities in West Africa, with research visits to Germany.
