Spain, leveraging its solar and wind resources, is emerging as a key player in renewable energy within Europe. With a focus on green hydrogen, Spain recently approved a substantial 794 million euro aid package for major green hydrogen projects, demonstrating a clear commitment to sustainable practices. The country's draft climate strategy outlines ambitious targets for the expansion of electrolysers capacity to 11 GW by 2030, a significant leap from the previous goal of 4 GW.
