Ceres Power has announced an important long-term manufacturing partnership with Denso Corporation, a Fortune 500-ranked Japanese automotive component manufacturer. The agreement focuses on solid oxide electrolyser (SOEC) manufacturing in the Asia-Pacific region, utilizing Denso's expertise in system control and thermal management. This collaboration is expected to bring significant revenues to Ceres over several years, covering license fees, engineering services, hardware, and future royalty payments on commercial production and sales by Denso. The CEO of Ceres, Phil Caldwell, underlines the technology's relevance in supporting Japan's ambitious hydrogen goals, aiming to drive investments in hard-to-abate sectors. The high-temperature electrolysis method employed by Ceres offers enhanced efficiency in hydrogen production by utilizing solid ceramic materials as the electrolyte.
