Pertamina NRE, a unit of Indonesia's state-owned energy company Pertamina, has announced a $6.2 billion investment to achieve its clean energy targets by 2029. The company aims to have 6 gigawatts of clean energy-based power plants by that year, with a focus on gas to power and renewable energy sources like geothermal, solar, and biogas. Additionally, Pertamina NRE plans to produce 7,000 tons of clean hydrogen annually, along with bioethanol and a significant battery capacity for electric vehicles. Pertamina NRE's goals also include selling 19.2 million tons of CO2 equivalent carbon credits as part of its 2029 plan.
