Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation (TMP) recently presented its upcoming Next Generation Tamaraw and a hydrogen-powered concept vehicle to Philippine President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. at the Malacañan Palace. TMP's commitment to sustainable mobility and local automotive manufacturing industry development was highlighted during the event. President Marcos lauded Toyota's investments in the Philippines, particularly the PHP 5.5 billion-investment in the local production of the Next Generation Tamaraw. TMP aims to revive this iconic model and cater to the specialized conversion needs of various Philippine Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The company also plans to donate five Tamaraw units, including ambulances, to support mobility needs through a health program. Toyota's 'Beyond Zero' movement, supporting clean energy and low carbon economy transition, was introduced to the government, aligning with national policies. TMP also showcased the Corolla Cross H2 Concept, a Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engine Vehicle, reflecting efforts toward decarbonization. By emphasizing the potential of hydrogen as an alternative energy source and diversifying sustainable mobility solutions, Toyota aims to contribute to reducing carbon dioxide emissions and promoting a more sustainable future.
