Advancing Hydrogen Mobility in Germany: Lhyfe and KEYOU Collaboration
Key Ideas
  • Lhyfe and KEYOU have formed a partnership to advance hydrogen mobility in Germany and Europe, focusing on heavy-duty vehicles in the Baden-Württemberg region.
  • Lhyfe is constructing a 10 MW green hydrogen production facility in Schwäbisch Gmünd, set to produce 4 tonnes of green hydrogen per day, supporting KEYOU's hydrogen vehicles.
  • The collaboration includes supplying green hydrogen to filling stations, powering an industrial park, and deploying up to 100 hydrogen-powered trucks in Schwäbisch Gmünd by 2030.
  • The agreement aims to create localized ecosystems integrating renewable hydrogen production, distribution infrastructure, and hydrogen vehicle use, contributing to the energy transition in transport.
Lhyfe, a global leader in green and renewable hydrogen production, has partnered with KEYOU, a technology leader in hydrogen combustion engines, to advance hydrogen mobility in Germany and Europe. The collaboration focuses on developing hydrogen-based solutions for heavy-duty vehicles, starting in the Baden-Württemberg region. Lhyfe is building a 10 MW green hydrogen production facility in Schwäbisch Gmünd, near Stuttgart, to supply green hydrogen for KEYOU's vehicles. The partnership also includes supplying green hydrogen to filling stations in Mannheim and Heidelberg, supporting an industrial park and hydrogen filling station. KEYOU specializes in converting diesel trucks into hydrogen-powered vehicles, aligning with zero-CO2 regulations. They offer a comprehensive 'Hydrogen Mobility as a Service' model, including vehicle conversion, service packages, insurance, and fuel options. The collaboration plans to deploy up to 100 hydrogen-powered trucks in Schwäbisch Gmünd by 2030, expanding annually to meet growing demand for green hydrogen. This partnership aims to develop localized ecosystems integrating renewable hydrogen production, distribution infrastructure, and heavy-duty hydrogen vehicle use. By showcasing hydrogen vehicles through Lhyfe's digital platform, the collaboration seeks to engage users and promote the benefits of hydrogen mobility. Pedro Bravo of KEYOU emphasized the importance of green hydrogen for impactful mobility, while Luc Graré of Lhyfe highlighted the role in advancing a comprehensive hydrogen mobility solution in Germany, particularly in Baden-Württemberg, supporting the energy transition in transportation.
